sonic the hedgehog 1 had only 6 chaos emeralds and 1 was added on sonic 2 and the master emerald was first featured on sonic and knuckles
you could combine both sonic and knuckles and sonic 3 to make sonic and knuckles 3
the same for sonic 2 you could play as knuckles on that
shadow was introduced in sonic adventure 2 battle
silver was introduced in sonic nex gen
the chaotix was introduced in knuckles chaotix
mighty the armadillo used to be part of chaotix
knack the weasel was in the game sonic fighters
tikal the echidna and chaos was introduced in sonic DX
characters such as bunnie,mina,sally,rotor and antonione was in an old sonic cartoon

also you know sonic mega collection plus? see if you do the right stuff you unlock a game called sonic 2 and knuckles it wasent debug mode cause that just lets you edit the level or add more rings in the game
